This is the Uniball Signo 207 Gel Ink Pen. It uses Uniball's pigment ink formulation called Super Ink.
The body is translucent plastic with a rubber grip. The grip is unique in its design. It's a dotted rubber grip with an angular tip. It's comfortable enough in that it makes you hold the pen in their ideal position with your first two fingers on either side of the angular tip. The cone tip and clip is metallic which is also uncommon in plastic barreled pens.
This is the 0.5mm black ink model. It is also available in red and blue inks. But the 0.7mm model has more available ink and barrel colors.
This is a retractable pen. Always a good option when you want to quickly jot something down.
The pen measures 14.3cm long and 1.1cm across it is at the shorter end of average size pens.
Writing with the pen lays down a thick solid line. It writes smooth as a gel ink pen would. It doesn't skip as well and there are no noticeable ink blobs from writing short strokes.
It is also very responsive. Writing in light touches produces very bold lines that shows how great the ink flows. It is a very well built pen.
The drying time is pretty awesome. It dries quickly after 1 second. Perfect for left handed users. For a great flowing ink pen the line it draws is actually thinner than 0.5mm. This is a characteristic of Japanese pens, they write on the thin side but even when it's thin there is no scratchiness to be found.
Finally, the waterproofness of the ink. Uni has advertised that their Signo 207 pens have their Super Ink formulation, a pigment ink that resists bleach, light and water. We'll test it out with a swab of water. Okay. It is definitely waterproof. There are no details lost. Minimal ink was too. A little smudgeness but if it weren't for the paper warping , I wouldn't notice that it was treated with water.
If you want a premium looking plastic gel ink pen that has vivid color and excellent waterproofness then the Uniball Signo 207 is the pen you want.
