Pilot Frixion Light Soft Color Highlighters Review

These are the Pilot Frixion Light Soft Color Highlighters.

Their body is an opaque plastic with the same color as the corresponding ink color. On top, the cap is translucent wit the same color as the body. The cap features a clip, a very sturdy clip with not much give. The pens are part of Pilot's Frixion pen line so at the end of the barrel is an eraser-like rubber to friction erase the highlighter ink.

This is the 6-piece set of the Pilot Frixion Highlighters in the Soft Pastel Color. They also have a 3-piece set with the Soft Yellow, Pink and Green. If the soft pastel color is too light for you they also have another color set which includes the classic fluorescent neon highlighter ink color.

These pens measure 13.9cm and average sized pen style highlighter.

If you notice the tip is of an average width compared to a normal highlighter. After some quick highlighting we measure it's line width as 4mm compared to a regular highlighters 4mm, it is an average width.

When highlighting the Pilot Frixion Light Soft Highlighters lays down these soft almost invisible lines that adds a soft halo to the text you've outlined. They dry fast, in 2 seconds, with no blobbing or bleedthrough see through the other side. They aren't meant to be eye catching, they're more for emphasizing what is already important with an added bit of color. These are great for formal documents you want to highlight but don't want to be overtly colorful when finished.

Being part of the Pilot Frixion type of pens, these Soft Highlighters have an extra trick up their sleeve. They are erasable. If you've highlighted something you didn't mean to or you got something you wish to emphasize with another color then these highlighters could do it for you. They can erase with the eraser-like end of a Pilot Frixion pen.

Finally, we'll see how well it performs against different kids of pens. We have here the ballpoint, the rollerball, a gel pen and inkjet ink. We'll test out the highlighter against these pens. It doesn't smear the ballpoint, the rollball or the inkjet ink but it does smear the gel pen. I think gel pens aren't meant to be highlighted, their vibrant colors are already enough to get noticed even so I wouldn't recommend using the Pilot Frixion Soft Highlighters with gel pens.

If you like your highlighters to be subtle and soft that you can erase through friction then the Pilot Frixion Light Soft Color Highlighters are perfect for you.
